You are viewing the basic index page for my new series of the Hunter franchise. Yes, I said FRANCHISE. I mean, c'mon, I WISH I could make money on my writing, so I figure it needs to be a franchise. Plus this is like the 4th or 5th incarnation of the series.
Okay just some general info about the series for now:
Takes place in the year 2049. During the first 5 years of the 21st century, aliens invade secretly, appearing as superheroes and villains. Within ten years of arriving, they've managed to set up cities and nations around the world for their generous good deeds or malicious take-overs.
Eventually it become known that they are aliens, and from 2 distinct worlds. Generally the good aliens come from the planet Heaven, as we humans call it because the aliens called it Earth for themselves. They are called Celestials, mainly because they have angelic features like wings or peaceful type powers. The bad aliens come from a firey planet named Hell, as we have named it. And the South Americans whom have had the majority of contact with these aliens have called them Diablians, because they look like devils and often have very destructive powers.
Eventually the United States gets pissed off at the aliens, despite trading with both races and of allowing them both to set up colonies in the Midwest. So one night, 5 massive nuclear explosions rupture the Midwest, killing millions and causing major enviromental damage.
This causes massive social and political changes. THe United States breaks off into 3 separate countries, while many of the European countries of old form a super-nation named Europe, which includes the nation of Salvation, where the Celestials have traded away technology for a nation. Japan had setup an island nation for some mixture groups of Celestials and Diablins, but eventually destroyed it because of the actions that happened in the United States. China flat out refuses to do any trade with the aliens, and becomes one of the worst countries to live in. Australia becomes a neutral nation to both races of aliens, as well as to the other nations around the world. South America becomes a haven for the Diablians, and eventually becomes a super-nation like Europe. And the Arab nations and some countries in Africa are wiped off the face of the planet by starting a war with the Diablians. Its rumored that there are several colonies and large cities being built in these unpopulated areas, but the aliens refuse to let any humans go in.
The whole ordeal with the nuclear explosions was to cause the world to blame the aliens for starting a war, but it ended up doing nothing for the United States government. But socially they didn't care. They still controlled one faction of the country, and had secretly built a base underground in the Midwest years before the explosions happened. It is there that the government has taken the remains and survivors of the attack and used them for research in developing a new breed of humans.
And by 2049, several generations of Neo-Humans have been created. They are only roughly 20 years old, with the second generation just starting to develop. Only 104 of the original 200 children remain, but they are what the United States believe to be humanity's greatest hope against the alien threat.
Unfortunately, there is more at stake than alien invasion. There was a reason for these 2 races to come to Earth, and while it is not known at this time, the events that have taken place took place as they were meant to be. It was all leading up to the arrival of one person: Davis 'Ace' Micheals. His role in the future of the planet and quite possibly the galaxy is about to begin. How and what he does, whom his allies and enemies are, everything that is to be his legacy begins now with this story. It is the story of the
Hunters.
